“Fairness X-travaganza” Celebrates 10 Years of Civil Rights in Louisville Saturday, October 24Minimize

Brown-Forman Joins Celebration as Official Wine and Spirits Sponsor

Ten years ago this October, the Jefferson county Fiscal Court passed the first comprehensive anti-discrimination Fairness Ordinance, protecting all Louisvillians from discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations based on sexual orientation and gender identity. To mark that historic occasion in Louisville’s advancement, Fairness Campaign supporters are hosting a series of Fairness X-travaganza fundraising dinner parties across the city on Saturday, October 24, that will end in Fairness X-plosion, a community celebration and dance party held at The Monkey Wrench, 1025 Barret Avenue, from 10pm-2am.

The Fairness X-travaganza dinner parties range in contribution level from $30 to $100 or more and span the gamut of dinner fare, from heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails to fine wine and dining. At 8pm, each host will lead their guests in a citywide celebratory “Korbel Champagne Toast to 10—A Decade of Fairness in Louisville,” courtesy of the evening’s official wine and spirits sponsor Brown-Forman.

All guests of Fairness X-travaganza dinners will gain free admission to the Fairness X-plosion community celebration and dance party at The Monkey Wrench. The event will feature DJ Ninja and Lady J, and a Magnolia Photo Booth will be on site to make the evening truly memorable. Fairness Campaign Coordinating Committee members serving from 1991-1999 will be honored at the celebration, and everyone attending either a dinner party or Fairness X-plosion will receive a commemorative “Fairness X” lapel pin. General admission to the dance party is a suggested minimum $20 contribution to the Fairness Campaign, $10 after Midnight.

Those interested in hosting or attending a Fairness X-travaganza dinner party should e-mail Chris@Fairness.org or call 502.893.0788.
